Stiltz Duo – Through Floor Lifts

A two-person through-floor lift

The Stiltz Duo Home Lift range features practical and efficient two-person lifts that increase mobility and ease everyday tasks.

Our through-floor lifts provide effortless travel between floors and don’t need to be fixed to a wall to operate. It simply plugs into a standard 13-amp power socket and has a self-supporting structure, so no extra weight is placed on the home. This makes it a safe, neat, and discreet alternative to stair lifts and other home lift models.

We’ve installed our Duo Home Lifts in hundreds of homes across the UK, creating a long-term accessible living solution so our customers can make the most of every corner of their space.

My homelift makes a massive difference to my life and my ability to focus on training. When I am at home, I don’t worry about how to get up and down the stairs

About Duo Home Lifts

The Duo through-floor lift range is designed to make your life easier, whether you’re starting to struggle with the stairs or want to begin future-proofing your home.

With a commitment to accessible living at the heart of everything we do, our two-person lifts make travel between floors effortless.

Thoughtful features like remote control operation, an obstruction sensor, and an interior telephone help to put your mind at ease as you travel. Internal downlighting illuminates your experience, and each lift comes with a series of safety features to help you stay secure while the lift is in use.

Select from three different models within our Duo range:

  • The Duo Classic
  • The Duo+
  • The Duo ThruCar

Each model is unlike any other conventional lift available as they don’t use hydraulics. Instead, they’re powered by our Stiltz dual-rail technology, which has a self-supporting structure and a maximum weight limit of 170kg. This means the lift can be installed in places where other home lifts may not fit.

Assembled in the UK, the Duo range offers unrivalled flexibility in terms of placement in the home. It requires minimal building work and disruption to install and comes in neutral colours to match any existing home décor scheme. From lounge to bedroom or hallway to study, the Duo range makes home mobility easy.

Duo Classic

The Stiltz Duo Classic is the original Stiltz Lift and was the first of its kind in the UK. It can carry two people between one floor in less than 30 seconds.

The Duo Classic has solid opaque sides and is available in a neutral white exterior for a contemporary and versatile look.

Our original Duo Classic Home Lift is built with various safety and accessibility features as standard, like a battery back-up system, a half-height light curtain sensor, and an interior telephone. Extra add-on options are also available.

Duo ThruCar

The Stiltz Duo ThruCar is an enhanced version of the Duo Classic lift, but it allows passengers to enter and exit from opposite sides of the lift.

The ThruCar uses Stiltz’s unique dual-rail technology, where two doors are configured on either side of the lift car, making access easier than ever.

There is no other domestic lift on the market that is capable of having a double entry or ThruCar configuration.

Along with maximum usability, it offers all the same features as the Duo Classic lift.

What’s the installation process for a Stiltz Duo Home Lift?

Step 1

After you submit an online enquiry or request a callback, a member of our friendly team will get in touch with you. They’ll discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have. They‘ll then help you schedule an appointment with a Home Lift Advisor (HLA) to visit your home.

Step 2

An HLA will visit your home for a comprehensive consultation to discuss your potential home lift options. They’ll be able to advise you on which product might be best suited to your needs and where it could fit in your home. You’ll be able to ask any questions, and the HLA will provide you with a quote to think about in your own time.

Step 3

If you choose to purchase a Stiltz Home Lift, you’ll have a team of Project Coordinators to help you manage your installation from start to finish.

Step 4

Next, we’ll book a Technical Survey where one of our dedicated team will visit your home to check all measurements and understand what building work may be needed. Following the success of the Technical Survey, your Project Coordinators will arrange a date for the building work and installation of your lift.

Step 5

On the scheduled day, our trusted team of builders will carry out any necessary work on your home to accommodate your new home lift. This usually takes around 3-4 days to complete.

Step 6

Finally, our installation team will visit to fit your lift to our expert standards and show you how to use your new through-floor lift.

The Jones’s story

Judith and Tony Jones spent the last two decades renovating and lovingly re-decorating their Grade II-listed seaside home. However, when Tony was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he began to struggle with mobility.

As a former Occupational Therapist, Judith understood the importance of home adaptations which could keep Tony mobile and safe.

Got questions?
Well, we’ve got answers

Our Stiltz Home Lifts are fitted with various features in the unlikely event that they break down.

If your lift stops for any reason, you can use the interior telephone to contact our customer help desk or to access our out-of-hours emergency call-out service.

All Stiltz Home Lifts have a battery back-up facility that will kick in if there is a power cut. It’s included as standard in all our lift models and allows anyone in the lift at the time of power failure to gently descend to the lower level of the home, exit the lift, and wait until the power comes back on.

If you live in an area prone to power outages, we can also install an uninterrupted power supply at an extra cost. This means you’ll be able to use your home lift several times while the main power to the lift is out.

The Stiltz Home Lift has safety sensors fitted above and below the lift car, which smoothly stops it when it comes up against an obstruction.

The lift is also fitted with a full-height light curtain, which acts as a sensor and ensures nothing crosses into or out of the lift as it travels. Stiltz engineers are also on call 24/7 in the event of a lift emergency.

We recommend that you have your Stiltz Home Lift serviced once a year to ensure that the lift is functioning properly and that all safety features are working correctly.

The Stiltz Home Lift uses a steel-roped, drum-braked gear motor drive system, which is compact and neatly self-contained within the roof space of the lift car itself.

The Stiltz Home Lifts is powered by a 13amp power socket like any household appliance and uses no more power than a kettle, toaster, or microwave.

All Stiltz Home Lifts are fitted with either one or two hinged doors, depending on whether you order a ThruCar model. Otherwise, our standard door is a half-height door.

The doors will lock automatically when in motion, and the lock will release once the lift comes to a stop and you are ready to exit the car.

A Stiltz Home Lift is simple to remove, and you can take it with you if you decide to move house.

It is very straightforward to reverse and seal the aperture opening, and your home will look as if the lift was never there.

You may, however, decide to keep the lift in position as a domestic lift, which can add value to your property. It, therefore, can be an attractive asset when selling your home.
